HOSPITALITY:  The Organisation of ROUT has declared as the centre of all events the Dasiko Horio (Forest Village) of Erymanthos, in the area region of Haidou, Rodopi mountains, Greece. There, except other, the athletes will have the possibility to camp (free of charge), using their own camping equipment, utilizing however the infrastructure of Dasiko Horio (bathrooms, toilets, restaurant, barbecues). Beyond this possibility, in the wider region, there are several small hotels, a few or more kilometres away from Dasiko Horio. The above map shows the settlements where there are various accommodation types (Hotels, Hostels, Shelters), which are also presented in the table below. On top of that, information is also given about the access in the area  of Haidou via road and railway, while useful is also a table of distances in kilometres.

ACCESS: The road access by car in the Dasiko Horio “Erymanthos” of Haidou, can be done with the following two ways:

1) From Xanthi city. We arrive in the city of Xanthi, via Egnatia Highway and move towards to Stavroupolis, which is located 35km away from Xanthi. After  20km of driving (and after 2 intersections) on the left bend of the road (U shape), there are signs informing that from that point begins a road to the area of ​​the Dasiko Horio (Forest Village), 32km length. We have to follow it and be careful at intersections signs. The road is covered by asphalt up to the entrance of the Dasiko Horio, having gone in between an area of ​​natural beauty. Gas/Petrol stations exist even after comes out from the city of Xanthi and Stavroupolis.

2) From Drama city. We pass the city of Drama and follow the road to Xanthi city. In our way we pass after 40km the Paranesti village (gas/petrol, food, hotels) and still 15km from there, there is a left turn to Karyofyto/ Livaditis villages, which we follow, leaving the main road. 7km from the left turn we reach the Karyofyto village (food, accommodation) and continue uphill asphalt road to Livaditis village, 8km above. We pass the village of Livaditis (food, accommodation) and in 9km distance we reach the Dasiko Horio.

RAIL ACCESS: Access by train is via the Station of Stavropolis, from which you should ensure the road passage up to Haidou area. The organisation of ROUT undertakes transferring athletes that will arrive by train, as their retirement after the trail, with specific itineraries, that announced the previous days of the race. The itineraries of trains, in the axis Athens – Thessalonica – Stavroupolis, for passage and return, appear in the web page of OΣΕ ( http://www.ose.gr/en/ )
